A warehouse management system controls what is in a godown, where it sits and who moved it: receiving, put-away, picking, packing, dispatch, stock adjustments and transfers between locations, usually with QR or barcode scanning, reporting live stock levels and raising low-stock alerts. That much is standard. What is not standard is any two warehouses agreeing on how those steps run, which is why an off-the-shelf WMS so often ends up half-used with a parallel register still going.
This page is about a build, not a product. Scanning is a choice, not a prerequisite. Where handheld scanners already exist they are used; where they do not, printed QR slips read by an ordinary phone camera achieve most of the same accuracy for a fraction of the hardware spend, and the system is designed so scanners can be introduced later without a rebuild. A warehouse that is not ready to buy scanning hardware is not a warehouse that has to keep counting by memory.
